lately i’ve been meditating on the idea of loving yourself first. i know it sounds cliche but this goes beyond pampering yourself, which may be difficult for people who have experienced or are experiencing trauma, depression, & anxiety.
to me, loving yourself first means taking the time & space to heal through compassion & unconditionally accepting yourself, your feelings, & your thoughts. it means letting go of judgments & narratives of unworthiness that may have been reinforced by yourself & others over time. this is really hard work, but some of the most important work one can do. when you love yourself first, our capacity to love others deepens. i hope you make some time today (& everyday for that matter) to practice self-love, whatever it might look like for you 💚
