another book to check out is naoshima by tadao ando. naoshima is one of my favourite places on earth and was recommended to me by karla, my good friend in melbourne. the whole experience of the island challenges your senses and perception. ando is one of my favourite architects. he creates simple yet complex spaces, and his work respects and follows natural landscapes. one example is chichu museum (my fave gallery of all). it is built into a hillside by the ocean and the art is lit by natural light, resulting in a different perspective depending on the time of day.
